Hi there! I'm Sam. I'm a sound designer and composer from New Zealand living in the U.K.
My love for game audio exists at the intersection between sound creation and implementation. My creative side thrives in the exploration of new sonic horizons, while the implementation process satisfies my love of puzzles and creative problem solving.
In 2018, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a dual degree in Performance and Composition. As such, I enjoy taking a more “performative” approach to sound design (using everything from my voice, body, virtual & analogue instruments, breath controllers, and side chain signals) to create music, UI, creature sounds, foley, or even environmental textures in real time. I find this process often results in sounds that feel more like they could exist in the physical realm, regardless of how sci-fi or fantastical the setting may be.
Since 2021, I’ve been the one-person audio team at Lighthaus Inc., helping them make their special brand of science-based VR games. **The first ever VR-powered biology education game, ‘Nano’, was released in 2023 and received Meta’s App of the Year award.
